COVID-19 UPDATE:

Softball has been listed by Governor Cuomo as an approved sport effective July 6.  As of June 23, the mayor has given us the approval to go ahead with our summer softball program.
 

2020 Softball Clinics and Leagues

ALL REGISTRATIONS MUST BE COMPLETED ONLINE

INTRODUCTORY SOFTBALL CAMP


  • Ages 5 to 7.  
  • July 21 - August 26
  • Tues and Weds
  • 4:30 - 5:30 PM
  • Felton Field
  • $40 for residents
  • $60 for Non-residents
  • Sibling discount available

Girls should have their own glove. Bringing their own helmet and bat is requested but not required.







Girls will learn the basics of how to properly throw, catch, and hit a softball. Players will then advance toward learning the fundamentals of holding a bat, proper hitting stance, swing techniques, and hitting follow through.


League Registration Deadline - July 10, 2020

DEVELOPMENTAL SOFTBALL LEAGUE


  • Ages: 8 to 12
  • July 14 - September 16
  • Practice on Tuesdays
  • Games on Wednesdays
  • Roughly 5:30 - 8 PM
  • Felton or Stenzil Field
  • $40 for residents
  • $60 for Non-residents
  • Sibling discount available

Girls should have their own glove. Bringing their own helmet and bat is requested but not required. 

Free skills clinics will be held on Tuesday, July 14, and Wednesday, July 15 from 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM at Gilmore Field.

Players will be placed on a team after the skills clinics. Teams will be announced by Thursday, July 16.

Developmental Softball league for girls ages 8 to 12. Girls will hone the basics skills of catching, throwing, and hitting. In addition to the basics, they will be taught base running techniques, basics of bunting, situational plays, and defensive strategies.

ADVANCE SOFTBALL LEAGUE


  • Ages 12 to 16
  • July 14 - September 16
  • Practice on Tuesdays
  • Games on Wednesdays
  • Roughly 5:30 - 8 P
  • Galassi or Gilmore Field
  • $40 for residents
  • $60 for non-residents
  • Sibling discount available

Free skills clinics will be held on Tuesday, July 14, and Wednesday, July 15 from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM at Gilmore Field.

Advance softball league for girls ages 12 to 16. Girls will use their knowledge of the fundamental softball skills and apply them to more advanced playing techniques.

Free softball clinics for players eligible for the Developmental and Advanced Divisions. Improve your performance on the softball mound by working with experienced pitching instructors. You'll work on basic throwing mechanics using the windmill motion, including balance, proper arm path and proper follow-through.

Congratulations to the players selected to the Advanced Division All-Star Game! These players were voted on by the coaches and staff. The game was held at the Varsity Softball Field on Saturday, August 10th.
